The Daddy of the Idea

Of course, the idea of individuals employed in creative industry as a source for economic growth gained validity with Richard Florida’s 2002 book, Rise of the Creative Class. Locally, we can claim fame to a signing with the book's publishing that occured at Urban Think. (And seriously, the guy's name is actually Florida so that has to be a cosmic sign, right?) Today, his ideas are practically an industry unto themselves. If you want the skinny from the source, it’s worth subscribing to Florida’s blog here http://creativeclass.typepad.com/thecreativityexchange

Don't forget, Florida Hospital is on its way in taking over the antique district, turning it into a Healthcare Village.
